Japan-Mauritius : Moving Africa up the Value Chain

𝗘𝗗𝗕 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘂𝘀 and the 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (𝗝𝗜𝗖𝗔) will organise the Official Side Event (Webinar) of the 2nd Japan-Africa Public-Private Economic Forum themed 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣-𝙈𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙪𝙨 : 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙣 from 10.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs (Time in Mauritius) on Wednesday 15th December 2021.

The Japan-Africa Public-Private Economic Forum (JAfEF) is organised by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan jointly with the Government of Kenya and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). This forum promotes business and cooperation between private sector companies in Japan and Africa in the fields of Investment, Trade, Infrastructure and Energy. JAfEF will also debate on ways in which Japan and Africa can work together through public and private partnerships to achieve concrete results by identifying business sectors in Africa that have remained resilient, as well as key social issues that have come to light over the course of the pandemic. Webinar objectives:
- Disseminate information on sectors in which Mauritius is emphasizing for Japanese Investment,
- Share information on the advantages of Mauritius as a platform for the expansion of Japanese companies into mainland Africa,
- Discuss opportunities and challenges for Japanese companies to enter the African market,
- Communicate on how Mauritius is further improving the local business environment &
- Provide testimonials on topics of interests for Japanese investors
