Celebrating its 24th Edition in 2019, Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food, beverage and hospitality exhibition which attracts F&B professionals from all over the world to Dubai – a hub for international trade and commerce. UAE imports over 80% of its food product, of which around 50% are re-exported to Gulf Cooperative Council countries and the Indian subcontinent and Eastern Africa. Since its launch in 1987, Gulfood Trade Show has grown into a key event which attracts buyers not only from the Gulf region but from all over the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).
The exhibition acts as a platform to promote F&B trade between more than 180 countries annually. In 2018, Gulfood set records by reaching 97,000 visitors and saw the participation of over 5,000 companies from 185 different countries showcasing their products.
As part of its market diversification strategy to explore new and emerging markets, the Economic Development Board will lead a delegation of 8 operators to this year’s edition of Gulfood which will be held from 17 – 21 February 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Center. The key objective is to enhance the visibility of Mauritian Agro products with a view to increase exports in the MENA region and promote Mauritius as an ideal destination for trade & investment.
