15 Oct 2021
The Mauritius Freeport awarded in the following categories of the Global Free Zones of the Year 2021 Awards
The prestigious 2021 Award confirms the momentum of the Freeport and Logistics sector previously recognized in the year 2018 (8th) and 2020 (9th). It is indeed a recognition for our freeport established back in 1992, which has distinguished itself as a commercial freezone offering more than 400,000 square metres of modern facilities which includes warehouses, processing and industrial units, open air storage and offices. Currently, there are 220 companies engaged in business activities employing 3,500 people.
The high-quality service offerings provided by the freeport stakeholders, after nearly 30 years’ of existence, have contributed considerably towards shaping the ideal logistics and value addition platform between Africa, Europe and Asia.
Despite the global pandemic, the Freeport continues to be a driver of growth with committed investments to the tune of USD 140M for freeport infrastructural developments both at the port and Airport.
Mauritius is reaping the fruits of continuous efforts in the freeport sector through this award by fDi magazine.
