Notice to Exporters - Extension of Export Incentives and Schemes up to June 2023


The Economic Development Board (EDB) is pleased to announce that Export Incentives and Schemes introduced by the Government have been extended up to June 2023 following Budget Speech 2022/2023.

  1. Freight Rebate Scheme (FRS)
    • The FRS is extended up to June 2023 with the existing Terms & Conditions.
    • SMEs (as defined in the SMEDA Act including Mid-Market Enterprise) exporting to the South African market are eligible for the FRS. (Effective for exports from 1st July 2022)
    • Exports from Rodrigues to Mauritius are eligible for the FRS. (Effective for exports from 1st July 2022)
       
  2. Trade Promotion and Marketing Scheme (TPMS)
    • The TPMS is extended up to June 2023 with the existing Terms & Conditions.
    • Exporting agents of locally manufactured products are eligible for the TPMS. (Effective for exports from 1st July 2022).
    • Exports from Rodrigues to Mauritius are eligible for the TPMS. (Effective for exports from 1st July 2022).
       
  3. Export Credit Guarantee Insurance Scheme
    • The Export Credit Insurance Scheme is extended up to June 2023.
       
  4. SME International Fairs Refund Scheme
    • The Scheme is extended up to June 2023
    • The Scheme is opened to freeport operators for participation in international fairs from July 2022
