Press Communique - Export Development Certificate

As announced in the National Budget 2021-2022, all businesses will be required to register with the Economic Development Board (EDB) to avail of incentives and schemes introduced by the Government. The following incentives are granted to Export Oriented Enterprises (EOEs) who are holders of an Export Development Certificate (EDC) issued by the Economic Development Board (EDB):

  • Freight Rebate Scheme,
  • Trade Promotion & Marketing Scheme,
  • Subsidy on the cost of Credit Guarantee Insurance Premium and;
  • Preferential Port & Handling Charges

The EDB has set up a Business Support Cell to provide support, assistance, and advisory services to EOEs to register for an Export Development Certificate.

The application for EDC should be made electronically to the Business Support Cell of the EDB via the following email address: bs@edbmauritius.org

Applicants are therefore invited to consult the guidelines or visit the EDB website (https://business-support-portal.edbmauritius.org/export-development-certificate/)before submitting an application.
